Apparel Development

From Product Idea To Production Ready Solution

Apparel Development

ZIABRIDGE provides apparel development support to transform ideas into production-ready products, working closely with designers, brands and buyers from the earliest concept stage through to a fully approved, manufacturable style.

Product development is often the stage where the most costly mistakes happen — a tech pack with unclear measurements, a pattern that doesn't translate well to bulk production, or a missed round of sample approval can delay a launch by weeks. Our development support is built to catch these issues early, before they reach the cutting table.

How Apparel Development Works

A typical development cycle moves through several structured stages, and we support you at each one:

Throughout development, we track revisions, coordinate sample rounds with the factory, and flag any construction or costing issues that could affect production before they become expensive to fix.

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is a tech pack, and do I need one to get started? +
A tech pack is the technical blueprint for a garment — it documents measurements, construction methods, materials, trims, labeling and any special finishing instructions in a format a factory can produce from directly. You don't need a finished tech pack to start; we can help build one from a reference sample, sketch, or even a clear written description of what you're looking for.
How many sample rounds are typically needed before bulk production? +
Most styles go through two to four rounds — a proto or fit sample, one or two rounds of revisions, and a final pre-production (PP) sample. Simpler styles with an existing pattern base may need fewer rounds, while highly technical or first-time designs often need more.
What's the difference between apparel development and production support? +
Development covers everything before bulk production starts — turning an idea into an approved, manufacturable style. Production support picks up once bulk manufacturing begins, monitoring the actual production run. Many projects use both in sequence.
Can you develop a product from just a reference photo or an existing garment? +
Yes. We regularly build tech packs and initial samples starting from a reference image, a competitor garment, or a rough sketch, working with you to confirm fit, construction and material details as the sample develops.
How long does the development process usually take? +
Timelines vary by style complexity, but a typical development cycle from tech pack to an approved PP sample runs a few weeks, depending on how many revision rounds are needed and factory sampling capacity.
